The Walt Maddox Interview Everybody Is Talking About

Mayor Walt Maddox talked with the 953 Bear Steve Shannon Morning Show.

He said he made the executive order to close Tuscaloosa bars and restrict restaurant bar service for 14 days at the request of the University of Alabama.

The order came after the University reportedly saw a spike in Covid-19 test results from on campus students.
The mayor said the decision was made to “save fall”.

The mayor responded to criticism that his daughter was photographed with Bama sorority friends not distancing or wearing a mask. He said it was a controlled group and only long enough to take pictures.

Mayor Maddox has requested that the ABC  Board extend restrictions to cover Tuscaloosa County.
