My family and I were looking for a new place for lunch Sunday afternoon. I had heard a few things about The Simple Peasant on McFarland. We gave it a shot.

When you are going to a new place for lunch or dinner, there is always a bit of apprehension. I love good food. I like to cook it. I like to eat it. And I love discovering new places that actually care about the product they produce. It can be a hit and miss journey sometimes. The Simple Peasant can be used as an example of how to do things.

When my wife's order of Pepperoni Stromboli arrived at the table with the bacon bits made in house sprinkled on top, she took the first bite and described it as "ridiculously good".  The lightly crusted bread, the Marinara sauce, the melted cheese was all perfect. I had to have a bite of two!

I love a good hamburger. I ordered the Greek Burger. Cooked on a flat top with provolone cheese, it was nothing short of amazing.  The peperoncino on the side...nice. The bun was buttered and grilled, the lettuce, tomato and onion was crisp and fresh. A 10 out of 10!

Our son had the Mozzarella Sticks with a side of marinara. He wanted to order some to take home! Really? I mean, how good can a cheese stick be? Just try them.

Chef Blake Miles stopped by our table and asked how everything tasted. We couldn't answer right away because our mouths were full of awesomeness so he got the grunt and nod. Our food was great and the service was stellar.

I defiantly be back and in my little world, I am happy to give The Simple Peasant a 10 out of 10!
