Post Office Pies Tuscaloosa – A Review

There seems to be a Pizza craze going on in Tuscaloosa these days. I stopped in for lunch at one of the newest pie holes in downtown Tuscaloosa and walked away happy....and full.

We've tracked Post Office Pies (From Avondale) since we learned of their plans to open a Tuscaloosa location. Monk made the announcement back in July '15.  In October, they started hiring - December 29th The 6th street Post Office Pies location officially opened.

Monk was actually their first customer!

I stopped in this week to sample the wood fired pizza. First off, the location is perfect. It's on 6th street behind Innisfree. You can park with ease. Second, It's roomy. Like really, really roomy, like "Shepherd party of 25" roomy.

High ceilings, large space and wood fire ovens greet you as you walk in. Everyone was super friendly. I ordered the special. A 9" pizza with tomato Sauce, House-Made Pork Sausage. This thing could be split between 2 people.

It was perfect. Not greasy.  Crispy crust with wood fire remnants. It had just the right amount of cheese and sauce and the house made sausage was remarkable.

These guys are still waiting on their liquor license to be able to serve up some local and regional craft beer and cocktails. I'll be back. I give Post Office Pies an A+
