Living in Alabama, you know that dealing with severe weather is just part of life. It hits close to home when we see a state close by go through severe weather or even natural disasters. A recent situation in Texas really hit home as it's just been revealed someone with a connection to Alabama has passed away in the recent Texas floods.

The state of Texas was recently hit with devastating flooding and as it stands, there are at least 81 people dead as a result according to CNN.

Among those dead, it's been discovered that a young Alabama student is included in that death toll number according to AP News. 

The flooding, which begin due to rapid moving waters on the Guadalupe River in Texas, has now made it's impact on the Alabama community.

"This is an unimaginable loss for her family, her school, and our entire community. Sarah's passing is a sorrow shared by all of us," Mountain Brook Mayor Stewart Welch said in a statement posted on Facebook. 

8-Year-old Sarah Marsh has been identified as one of those killed as a result of the flooding in Texas.

AP News reports that Marsh was attending Camp Mystic in Texas this summer and she was a student at Cherokee Bend Elementary.

"As we grieve alongside the Marsh family, we also remember the many others affected by this tragedy," the statement by Mayor Welch continued.
