Thousands of letters addressed to Taylor Swift were found this weekend in a recycling dumpster in south Nashville.WKRN-TV reports that the letters, some opened, some unopened were found in a dumpster by Kylee Francescan at Granberry School, located off Nashville's Old Hickory Boulevard.

A reporter from the station traveled to Big Machine Records headquarters to find out exactly why Taylor's fan mail was discarded as trash. He was informed later that the letters weren't intended to be tossed out; that all Taylor's fan mail is normally read and then recycled. Big Machine records says they're looking in to the matter.

It all seems a little strange to me. Taylor Swift seems like the kind of person who genuinely cares about her fans, so I am shocked to hear that letters her fans spent time to write and mail would be trashed without even opening them. What do you think? Am I being too skeptical of the record label, or is Taylor the one to blame? Sound off in the poll below.
