Scotty Hollins of Blueprint Ministries joined The Martin Houston Show this morning to encourage our listeners and give his perspective on Tua Tagovailoa choosing the jersey number one and using, "Playing for the audience of one" as his reason behind choosing the number. Hollins works with the Alabama football team serving the FCA staff since 2009. You can hear the entire interview on Soundcloud or on the Tide 100.9 Youtube page.

Hollins was delighted when hearing about Tagovailoa's jersey number and he described what that means to him. Hollins detailed that many worldly factors can influence effort and performance but we should really only be concerned with the Lord's opinion of us.

The executive director of Blueprint Tuscaloosa spoke about Jeremiah 9:23-24

"Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,

Let not the might man glory in his might,

Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

But let him who glories glory in this,

That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness,

judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight," says the Lord."

Hollins pointed out that the rich and mighty men receive their riches and strength from God, therefore there is no reason to boast in themselves but in God who blessed them with such gifts.

Hollins played football at UAB, but faced many struggles and dealt with injuries. He wanted to play a lot but ended up falling in the depth chart. Hollins had the remember that he wasn't playing football for himself but for the Lord's glory and to spread his kingdom through football.

He learned lessons from football with how to play for the audience of one and serve the Lord. Tagovailoa's choice of jersey number will impact the kingdom beyond the football field in Miami.
