Every Friday at 7:30, we travel back to different time in country music to feature a song that made a few waves. Today's Falshback song takes us back to 1989. I was in the 9th grade at Coffeeville High School with a freshly printed motorcycle license. Times were good.

. This song was Shenandoah's second release and their first number one song from the album The Road Not Taken.

It was co written by Bob DiPiero, John Scott Sherrill and Dennis Robbins. You may recognize a few of Bob DiPiero's other hit songs: "Worlds Apart" by Vince Gill - "Blue Clear Sky" and "Cowboys Like Us" by George Strait - "Southern Voice" - Tim McGraw - "Mirror, Mirror" - Diamond Rio.

With the extreme vocal and musical talents of Marty Raybon, Ralph Ezell, Stan Thorn, Jim Seales, and Mike McGuire, No wonder Shenandoah was able to send "The Church on Cumberland Road" to number one!
