Tide 100.9's on-site coverage of the 2022 SEC Media Days is brought to you by Academy Sports and Cardiology Consultants.

Arkansas third-year head coach Sam Pittman took to the podium on Wednesday of SEC Media Days, looking to preview the upcoming season and speak on the progress the program has made under his leadership.

Pittman opened by running through this year's team, mentioning the incoming transfers and new faces expected to take on larger roles. The Razorbacks dove deep into the Transfer Portal this offseason, pulling in nine players, mostly from fellow Power Five programs.

The coach was asked about the SEC's recent acquisition of Texas and Oklahoma, both of which have been fierce rivals with Arkansas in the past. Pittman initially responded with a sly smile, saying, "We love you, Texas and Oklahoma. Can't wait for you to come over. We got a great place."

Continuing to dive deeper into his actual advice for the two Big 12 powerhouses, Pittman said, "I would tell them what they already know. It's a hell of a league. It's about big people and fast people (...) Consistently each week, you'd better have some depth."

Though both the Longhorns and Sooners could join the league as soon as next season if they wanted, a recent report from CBS Sports has indicated that both programs plan to do so in 2024.

Arkansas kicks its 2022 season off with a matchup against Cincinnati in Week 1, a team that has won 11 games in three of the last four seasons and made the College Football Playoff last year. The Razorbacks have one of the hardest schedules in all of college football this season, but could be one of the country's best teams.
