Alabama LB Dylan Moses Suffered Injury During Practice, Could Miss Playoff
December was supposed to bring hope that Alabama could rest and recover from a season full of injuries and get healthy before the College Football Playoff started, but an injury on Monday might put an end to that plan.
AL.com first reported that linebacker Dylan Moses suffered a foot injury during Alabama's practice and 247Sports followed up with a report that he'll require surgery. That likely means that the true freshman will miss the remainder of the season.
Nick Saban confirmed the injury Tuesday afternoon with this statement:
“Dylan Moses injured his foot in practice on Monday. He will be out indefinitely.”
This continues a rash of injuries at the linebacker position for the Crimson Tide in 2017. Senior Shaun Dion Hamilton was lost for the season while Christian Miller, Terrell Lewis, Anfernee Jennings, Rashaan Evans, and Mack Wilson have all missed multiple games. You could argue that Alabama's top seven players at that position have all suffered significant injuries this year.
Alabama will continue preparations for the Sugar Bowl matchup with Clemson through the rest of this week. The team will break after Friday's workout for Christmas.
