Potential Tornado, Damaging Winds, & Flooding in Parts of Alabama
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is closely monitoring the concerning weather conditions Tuesday through Thursday.
In portions of Alabama, “waves of moderate to heavy rainfall will pass across the area, resulting in low to medium chances for minor flooding of poor drainage and low-lying areas, and a low risk of isolated flash flooding,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Also, a cold front will move through the area on Wednesday, which brings the low-risk threat of strong to severe storms.
Flooding Risk Area, Timing, and Threats
Points are generally along and north of Interstate 20, with lesser or no impact to the south. This is for the period between Tuesday and Thursday. Isolated flash flooding is a concern.

Severe Weather Threat Risk Area, Timing, and Threats
The far western and southwestern portions of Central Alabama. Currently, this is projected to take place Wednesday night.
The threats include damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and a brief tornado or two.
The Storm Prediction Center has defined a "marginal risk" (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for parts of West Alabama for Wednesday night.
We will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide necessary updates to help you stay informed.
