Possible Damaging Winds and Hail Threat in Portions of Alabama
A mid-week severe weather threat is bringing damaging winds and hail to our area. Here is everything you need to know.
Timing
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is tracking a storm system expected to enter the state from the northwest on Wednesday afternoon through the late evening.

Risk Areas
Areas to the north and west of Birmingham are under a "marginal risk" (level 1/5) of severe storms, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
Possible Threats
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said the main threats are “damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to quarter size.”
“With hardly any surface-based instability and weak dynamic support, the severe threat is low,” said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist. “But a few storms could produce small hail and gusty winds.”
This is a developing weather system, and we will give you all the necessary updates.
