Planet Fitness Gym Coming to Northport Next to City Hall

A new Planet Fitness gym is coming to Northport in the lot next to its Civic Center and City Hall, District 5 City Councilman Jeff Hogg announced Friday evening.

In a post on his Facebook, Hogg said the area's third Planet Fitness franchise will open in the lot immediately east of City Hall, a shopping center owned by local developer Inge Beeker.

Hogg said the new gym is aiming to open in the first quarter of 2020, and is the first of many businesses that will be announced for that area of the city.

The site is the former home of the Salvation Army headquarters and several other small businesses and restaurants.
