Alabama Residents Invited to Give Back Through Holiday Shoebox Drive
Alabama drop off locations for an upcoming holiday drive will be open soon. With the seasons changing, it's almost time foe residents in Alabama to do their part to help children in need.
Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization who provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. They've been on their mission of service since 1970, according to their site.

This holiday season, Samaritan’s Purse will once again launch their national effort of collecting shoebox gifts across the country to send to children in need. According to a press release sent to Townsquare Media, many of those children are suffering from war, poverty, disease and disaster.
In 2025, Samaritan’s Purse aims to reach another 12 million children with Operation Christmas Child.
This wishing to donate shoebox gifts can find the nearest drop-off location and hours of operation as they make plans to drop off their shoebox gifts. The online lookup tool provided by Samaritan's Purse is searchable by City or ZIP code. Signs at each location will identify the drop-off.
Locations in Alabama will open during National Collection Week, Nov. 17-24.
There is even a step-by-step guide on the How to Pack a Shoebox webpage. Participants can donate $10 per shoebox gift online through “Follow Your Box” and receive a tracking label to discover its destination.
“Samaritan’s Purse works around the world to help people in need, but it’s not about good works— it’s about the Gospel,” said president of Samaritan’s Purse Franklin Graham in a press release sent to Townsquare Media.
“Please prayerfully consider packing a shoebox this year with Operation Christmas Child. These simple gifts open the door for us to share the true meaning of Christmas.”
Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 232 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
