One Killed Friday in Wreck on Alabama 171 near Northport

Alabama State Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Northport man on Alabama 171 near the five mile marker.

The accident occurred around 1:15 am Friday morning when the 1998 Jeep Cherokee that 24-year-old Christopher Brady Watt was driving left the roadway and overturned. Watts, who was not using a seat belt, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
