Northridge Closes Out the Season With Alma Bryant
Northridge Jaguars (6-3, 5-2) will play the Alma Bryant Hurricanes (3-6, 0-6) Friday night. This is the first time these two teams have met on the football field, this will also be the last regular season game for both teams. The Jaguars will continue to play as they clinched the No. 3 seed in the class 6A Region 4 with the win over Brookwood last week.
The Jaguars and first year head coach, Ryan Lolley, did not get the start of the season they hoped for, losing their first two games of the season to Oak Mountain and Hillcrest. After their loss to Hillcrest the Jaguars went on a five game winning streak, before losing to Hueytown.
Northridge bounced back from the Hueytown with a win over Brookwood 28-14 last week. Quarterback Rowdy Christensen threw two passing touchdowns in the game, one to receiver Kollyn Shelnutt and one to tight-end Patton Curington. Toryion Spears and PJ Hall both had a rushing touchdown to also help Jaguars get the win.
The Alma Bryant Hurricanes started the first five weeks 3-2, with two of their three wins being on the road. After their last win of the season against Robertsdale, the Hurricanes went on a four game losing streak. The Hurricanes are last in the class 7A Region 1 standings after having an 0-6 region record.
Second year head coach, Bart Sessions, and the Hurricanes would like to end their season and four game losing streak with a win over the Jaguars.
The game between Northridge Jaguars and the Alma Bryant Hurricanes will be played at Northridge Stadium Friday night, with kickoff at 7 p.m. CST.
