A 19-year-old in Northport has been charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, according to court documents and assistance police chief Keith Carpenter.

A deposition filed last Tuesday shows that Northport Police obtained and executed a search warrant for the cell phone and laptop of Erik Christopher Reinwald after receiving a cyber tip that the teen had child pornography on those devices.

Officers say they found that Reinwald was using multiple online content storage sites to keep child pornography and had filled at least one to its digital capacity.

Reinwald was arrested at his family's home on Belle Meade Way in Northport and charged with two counts of Possession of Obscene Matter Depicting a Person Less than 17 Years of Age. He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he was later released on a $20,000 bond.

Carpenter said the officers involved in the investigation and arrest are part of the multi-agency West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.
