It's a holiday tradition that is now another thing that looks like it's bad for us.  Who hasn't licked the spoon after mixing up some baked goodies, or had a few bites of the cookie dough before we pop them in the oven.

Now, according to a study published Wednesday in The New England Journal of Medicine, tasting uncooked foods made with flour can make you dangerously ill.

An article in the NY Times says the report came from an investigation that led to a recall of more than 10 million pounds of flour in the summer of 2016, confirming that a type of E. coli bacteria previously discovered in wet environments like hamburger meat and leafy vegetables can also thrive in arid hosts.

There is some good news, the warnings do not include commercial treats like cookie dough ice cream and packaged refrigerated cookie dough.
