Matthews Elementary School has welcomed Courtyard by Marriott Northport as its newest Adopt-A-School partner. Through this partnership, Courtyard by Marriott will provide support for teachers and help create new opportunities for students throughout the year.

“At Matthews Elementary, we believe strong partnerships make strong schools,” said Dr. Dedre Slater Warren, Assistant Principal. “Together with Courtyard Marriott Northport, we’re excited to build meaningful opportunities that will benefit our students and community for years to come.”

Some great examples of what students will experience through this Adopt-A-School partnership.

  • Volunteer readers will visit classrooms, including during Read Across America Day.
  • Students will gain unique learning experiences, such as hotel tours for job shadowing and etiquette training.
  • Courtyard by Marriott Northport will provide snacks and classroom materials.

Several Adopt-A-School partners continue to provide valuable support to Matthews Elementary, including First Federal Bank, the Tuscaloosa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and North River Church.
