He was most recently on "Today" and talked with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush about his most recent visit.

Though the native Texan showed respect for the environment in Tuscaloosa Saturday, he wasn't shy about how proud he was of the win.

“Alabama has been the gold standard for 15 years," McConaughey said.

"We go there the year before we’re about to join the SEC at that table. We go to their stadium Bryant-Denny. It was an awesome atmosphere. The hospitality down there is outstanding. And we beat ‘em. And we beat ‘em straight. It’s not one of those wins where you go, ‘Well, we could’ve.’ No. No. We won, OK?”

Host Jenna Bush, daughter of former president George W. Bush and granddaughter of former president George Herbert Walker Bush, asked McConaughey if he thought Texas would go all the way to the National Championship.

“First off, we have the ability to, we saw that That was one, we beat Bama, and we took over Tuscaloosa, next. Let’s not drink our own Kool-Aid.”

No. 10 Alabama will try to right the ship against South Florida this weekend while No. 4 Texas welcomes in Wyoming to Austin.
