"We went with the guys in the second half that gave us the best chance to win the game, and we won the game" said Coach Oats in his opening statement following the game, "Our defense was significantly better in the second half than in the first half, and we haven't done that much this year."

Mark Sears' mother took to social media to address fans and the media following the recent events.

"I did not agree with the choice to keep Mark on the bench for the entire second half, but I fully understand that in sports, especially at this level, these moments happen, and we all learn and grow from them, Lameka Trimble Sears posted on Facebook.
The post went on to explain what fans saw on the bench as Sears appeared visibly emotional on the bench during the second half, seeming frustrated while talking to assistants Preston Murphy and Ryan Pannone and his teammates.
"Mark’s emotion on the bench was a reflection of his passion and commitment to his teammates. We’re proud of how he continues to handle those moments with maturity and focus."
Mark Sears can be seen celebrating his teammate after the win in this video below.
