Look What the Cat Dragged in – A Baby Snake

Our cat killed this snake and left it on our door step yesterday.

I don't think this is a venomous snake. I think it is a baby chicken snake. They are pretty harmless. Our cat apparently didn't like it at all. I wonder why the snake was deposited on our door step though. Did our cat think she was leaving us a prize.

I have heard stories of felines leaving dead critters like lizards and frogs on peoples door steps but never really understood why they do it. Do you know?
