Leland Lanes, the iconic bowling alley that has been a staple of Alberta City since it opened in 1960, will close its doors for good in 10 days on May 25th.

Profitability at the bowling center has steadily decreased for yearss, and after the brand-new, high-tech, 40-lane Bowlero bowling alley opened less than three miles away from Leland Lanes in April, owners at the Alberta complex decided to call it quits after almost 60 years in business.

The alley's future is uncertain -- while owners there and local politicians have said they hope someone purchases the bowling center and invest in upgrading it to modern standards, no deals such deals have been made to date.

For now, patrons of the bowling alley have 10 days left to bowl another game for nostalgia's sake before Leland Lanes closes on the 25th.
