A juvenile suspect was arrested late Wednesday night in connection with a shooting earlier that day in downtown Tuscaloosa's Temerson Square that left a woman injured.

As previously reported, the VCU responded to the entertainment district on 4th Street early Wednesday morning on reports that a woman had been shot following a physical altercation with another woman.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the VCU, said warrants were obtained for a juvenile suspect, who was charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, and one count of unlawful possession of a handgun.

Kennedy said the suspect, who is under the age of 18, was charged an adult in the incident, but Alabama law prohibits authorities from releasing identifying information on the defendant due to their age.

The suspect was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a combined bond of $76,000 and has since bonded out, Kennedy said.
