The Tuscaloosa Branch of the NAACP will continue its yearly tradition by hosting its Annual Juneteenth Parade and the “Living Legends” luncheon.

PARADE INFO

The annual Tuscaloosa Branch of the NAACP parade will take place on Saturday, June 14, and will feature organizations and groups from Tuscaloosa and surrounding counties.

Organizers encourage residents to view the parade along Martin Luther King Blvd. between Westlawn Middle School and Shelton State – C.A. Fredd Campus.

Starts at 10 a.m.

The parade route runs along Martin Luther King Blvd. and ends at Shelton State – C.A. Fredd Campus, 3401 Martin Luther King Junior Blvd.

JUNETEENTH LIVING LEGEND LUNCHEON

The 2024 Living Legends honoree is Fitzgerald Washington. You can join the celebration for the Living Legend Luncheon on Wednesday, June 19, at Noon at Shelton State Community College, located at 9500 Old Greensboro Road. Click here to purchase tickets.

“Washington, former Secretary of the Alabama Department of Labor and current Corporate Director of External Affairs & Community Engagement at Buffalo Rock Company,” said the press release.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
