Alabama defensive back Jordan Battle was part of a handful of players that decided to return to The Capstone for their senior season. Last year, the Crimson Tide fell short of winning another national championship so Battle wanted to come back and try to win another national championship for the university. Battle also pointed out that he wanted to come back to graduate and get his diploma.

“Obviously the most motivation to come back was the National Championship and trying to get that National Championship back. But I’m also getting a degree for my mom and for myself as well. That’s a big thing in the family. My mom and dad have degrees, so like I say, I want to get the degree as well.”

Nick Saban stated at SEC Media Days that Battle, Bryce Young and Will Anderson are all on track to graduate in December.

Battle is the leader of the Alabama secondary and one of the biggest voices in the Tide locker room. If there’s any player on the Alabama roster that knows the standard of playing for Nick Saban, it’s Battle.

The South Beach native put an emphasis this offseason on continuing to grow as a leader.

"I'm on the game with my friends. I take the DBs out to eat sometimes. I'm trying to focus on getting better relationships with other position groups, not just focusing on my position group. I think that's the main thing we try to communicate as a leadership group, you've got to get everybody in" Battle said.

The former four-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting class started four games as a true freshman and became a full-time starter for Alabama’s national championship winning team in 2020.

This past season, Battle finished fourth on the team in tackles with 87. He added three interceptions returning two of them for a touchdown, and three pass breakups, which earned him first-team All-SEC and third-team All-American honors.

Battle credited his parents for developing his strong work ethic that has made him one of the top safeties in college football.

Battle stated "As a kid, my dad coached me in every way, in everything. Track, basketball, football, my dad was my coach. My mom was right there watching me in the stands. I've always had that motivation that they were there, and I had to go harder."
