I love hearing about new jobs coming to West Alabama and with so much negative in news, we love to share the positive at 95.3 The Bear.  Forty-Five jobs are coming to Demopolis, the new home to a $95 million wood pellet production plant opening next year.  This new plant is a Canadian based manunfacturer that will pay an average wage of about 20 bucks an hour.  Hey, that's only 50 dollars less than Don Hartley makes an hour!

According to AL.com, Alabama Pellets should begin production in the middle of next year. This new wood pellet production plant (boy aint that a tongue twister) will produce a greener alternative than coal.  Governor Kay Ivey says the plant will create needed jobs for Marengo County and hopes even more jobs will come with this big announcement.

This is great news for West Alabama and i hope and pray we see more of this kinda news.  Alabama job rates are recovering as we all know, especially since that crazy 12.9% unemployment number we saw back in April.

Editors note:  As i was typing this story Steve Shannon just walked by the studio door wearing nothing but a mask.  Sorry for any typos! #WildBillShow #953TheBear
