This nonprofit provides crucial support for families and children in foster care. This upcoming event will allow community members, supporters, and others to learn about the foster care system and ways to make more effective changes that can change lives.

The mission of the luncheon is to equip attendants with information on the foster care system and allow them to present resources or other talents that can make a difference in the youth and families of West Alabama.

“We believe every child deserves a stable and supportive home,” said Greer Taylor, Operations Coordinator of Tuscaloosa Angels. “This luncheon is an opportunity for our community to come together and learn how we can all play a role in supporting foster families and children in our area.

James Spann, ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist, will be the keynote speaker at the Love Local Luncheon. Spann is dedicated to community engagement, making him a perfect choice for the position.

With programs like the Love Box and Dare to Dream, the goal is to provide vital services to support local foster families and mentor children on their journey through life.

According to the press release, “With 50% of foster homes closing within their first year, the organization’s mission is to reduce that turnover rate by ensuring foster families receive the support they need. In 2023, 92% of families in the Love Box program continued fostering beyond one year, demonstrating the impact of these initiatives.”

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the Love, Local Luncheon are available now. For more information or to get involved, visit www.tuscaloosaangels.org.
