Ja’Corey Brooks and Agiye Hall Bring a New Aspect to Alabama’s Offense

With the departure of DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle, Alabama has a lot of production to replace at the wide receiver position. John Metchie III will move into the No. 1 spot after reeling in 55 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns in 2020.

Outside of Metchie and Slade Bolden, the Crimson Tide do not have a ton of experience at the position, but they do have a lot of talent.

Early enrollees Ja’Corey Brooks and Agiye Hall are two intriguing players because of the size they possess on the outside. Both are lengthy wideouts standing at around 6-foot-3.

Although guys like DeVonta Smith, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III and Jaylen Waddle are immensely talented, Brooks and Hall provide a new aspect in this Alabama offense.

Brooks is a 5-star recruit by way of IMG Academy. He was ranked as the No. 2 WR and No. 26 player overall according to 247Sports. The Miami native is explosive off the line scrimmage and is a polished route runner. He has the ability to break tackles and take a short pass the distance. Brooks doesn’t have elite speed, but his long strides allow him to stack defensive backs. In a crowded receiver room, Brooks may be too talented to keep off the field.

Hall is a 4-star recruit out of Bloomingdale High School in Florida. Like Brooks, Hall has a wide catch radius making him any quarterbacks best friend. He has great long speed in the open field to runaway from defenders. Hall possess great athleticism for his size and is an impressive blocker.

Brooks and Hall have the skill set to make an immediate impact in Alabama’s offense. They will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to college football at A-Day on April 17th.
