A Northport woman and a Bessemer man were both killed in a two-vehicle crash in Fayette County Friday afternoon, Alabama State Troopers confirmed Saturday.

Sergeant Reginal M. King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in West Alabama, said the wreck happened around 12:45 on Friday, about seven miles south of Carbon Hill in Fayette County.

Brinana Marchman, a 24-year-old woman from Northport, was driving a 2024 Toyota Camry on Alabama 102 when she collided head-on with a 2023 Ford Transit Van being operated by 38-year-old Javarius Walker, of Bessemer.

King said Marchman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Walker was transported to Fayette Medical Center, where he succumbed to critical injuries and died.

No other details were available Saturday as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
