Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson with the Tuscaloosa Police, said officers received a call just before 2 a.m. stating that a truck had hit the Central Mesa restaurant located on Greensboro Avenue.

No injuries were reported upon arriving at the scene and an investigation is currently ongoing as the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the area before being questioned.

Despite extensive damage to the outdoor patio section, employees of Central Mesa indicated the restaurant would be open today for regular indoor service.
