State Troopers have closed part of Highway 69 in Northport Tuesday morning after a lumber truck overturned and blocked the highway.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said the commercial vehicle was in a single-vehicle accident at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday.

King said both lanes of Alabama Highway 69 are closed near Mile Marker 160 at the highway's intersection with Tierce Patton Road.

Until the debris is clear, traffic is being diverted away from that intersection, which is near Lake Tuscaloosa, King said.

Nothing further was available at 7:30 Tuesday morning. Stay connected to the Thread for updates on the road closure as they become available.

EDITOR'S NOTE, 1 p.m. Tuesday: The road has been cleared and is reopened.
