Clubhouse Renovations Mark New Chapter For Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama
Dozens of community leaders, parents, board members, and staff attended a ribbon-cutting celebration at the new Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama Clubhouse on Alberta Parkway in Tuscaloosa on Friday morning.
“This is not the end of a project, it’s the beginning of a better, bigger and bolder opportunity for the children and teens of Tuscaloosa and West Alabama,” said Kim Turner, President & CEO of BGCWA, as she and dozens of kids officially cut the ribbon this morning on Phase One renovations to the Clubhouse at Jaycee Park.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox joined Turner in addressing a crowd of Club supporters Friday, as did BGCWA Board Chair Lee Delchamps and their Youth of the Year, Abriyah White.
“The Jaycee Park Clubhouse has meant so much to generations of young people in our community, and this renovation and modernization is about honoring that legacy while building something even stronger for the future,” stated Kim Turner. “What makes this moment especially meaningful is the deep community investment behind it, shaped by partners, sponsors, neighbors and the public sector who believe in the power of giving young people a place to belong and grow.”
The Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama has been a cornerstone in the community for over 65 years, serving all local youth. The mission of the organization is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential and become productive, caring and responsible citizens.
