ALDOT Worker Expected to Recover After Semitruck Strikes Mower in Hale County
State officials say a road maintenance worker is expected to recover after the tractor mower they were operating was hit by a semitruck on Wednesday.
John McWilliams, a spokesperson for the Alabama Department of Transportation, said one of their workers was performing routine maintenance on State Route 69 in Hale County near Greensboro when the accident occurred.

McWilliams said a tractor-trailer struck the mower, injuring the ALDOT employee, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The worker is expected to recover, ALDOT said.
“Our employees work hard every day to maintain our roadways, often in close proximity to traffic,” said Wallace McAdory III, ALDOT West Central Region Engineer. “We’re thankful our employee is expected to recover, and we encourage all motorists to use extra caution when approaching maintenance crews.”
ALDOT reminds motorists to remain alert when traveling near roadside work activities and to move over or slow down when approaching workers and equipment.
