Many parents often worry about their kids while they're away from home.

Away at a friend's house, or even away at college. so many things happen while children are away from their guardians but no one wants to hear about something like this happening to their child or loved one.

According to the New York Post, a 19-year-old LSU student was fatally struck by a car following a night of drinking. The worst part of all this for me was hearing that the 19-year-old was pretty much dumped on the side of the road after allegedly being raped.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the rape of Madison Brooks, the 19-year-old LSU student, they are Kaivon Deondre Washington, 18, Everett Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18.

The fourth suspect has not been identified because he is a minor at the age of 17 years old.

According to the New York Post, Brooks had been drinking at a bar near LSU's campus where she met the 17-year-old suspect.

After leaving with the 17-year-old, it's said that she was noticeably unstable and "not able to keep her balance."

The New York Post reports that Brooks was said to have asked for a ride home and eventually was dropped off at a nearby subdivision where she was struck by a rideshare driver.

It's reported that before Brooks was dropped off, Casen Carver said his 17-year-old juvenile friend asked Brooks five times if she wanted to have sex with him and she "gave verbal consent."

It's noted that when police asked Carver during the interview if he thought Brooks was too impaired to give consent to sex, Carver replied. I guess."

KSLA reports that Brooks was a member of Alpha Phi sorority.

The LSU School of Mass Communication released a statement regarding the tragic death of Madison Brooks.

"Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Madison Brooks, an LSU mass communication sophomore who tragically died Sunday. Madison had just been accepted into the Manship School. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends during this heartbreaking time."
