Nate Oats and Alabama will face a familiar opponent during the 2024-2025 men's basketball season during the non-conference portion of their schedule.

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Alabam will host a game against McNeese on November 11.

While the team, McNeese, is not a familiar opponent for Alabama Men's Basketball, the coach is. Former LSU head coach Will Wade, who Alabama beat to claim the 2020-2021 men's basketball SEC Tournament championship, is the new head coach of McNeese.

Wade spent six seasons as the head coach of the LSU Tigers, where he and Oats developed a rivalry between the two programs.

As per usual, Nate Oats has Alabama's non-conference schedule as one of the toughest in the country yet again. Alabama will host a game against Creighton, travel to Purdue, play against Illinois in Birmingham, participate in the Las Vegas MTE, and play in the second-annual ACC/SEC Matchup against an opponent yet to be determined.

Nate Oats is known for his tough non-conference scheduling for Alabama men's basketball, but the adversity his teams face helps them during the NCAA Tournament. Arguably, it is what helped Alabama make their first-ever run to the Final Four last season.
