His role is TBD and may only be temporary, but reports are circulating that Alabama football coach Nick Saban is adding former Michigan assistant George Helow.

It's not certain if Helow will be a permanent staff member as an assistant or analyst or if he's a temporary consultant to help prepare the Crimson Tide to face his former employer at Pasadena's Rose Bowl Jan. 1 in the Playoff semifinal.

With outside linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler leaving to be DC in Starkville after the postseason, this could be a move to replace him by making Helow full time after Hutzler leaves Tuscaloosa. That, too is to be determined, but Helow did coach linebackers in Ann Arbor.
