LT Overton: “I’m not satisfied until we get a national championship”
On Tuesday, defensive lineman LT Overton spoke with media members to recap the win against the Georgia Bulldogs this past weekend and to preview Alabama's upcoming matchup against Vanderbilt.

The Crimson Tide headed into to Athens, Georgia, as an underdog, and many doubted they would pull off the win against the Bulldogs. They did, but despite the 24-21 win, taking down the then-No. 5 team in the country, and ending the Bulldogs' 33-home game winning streak, Overton was not satisfied with the win and is hungry for more.
"Not too much emotion on the game. I'm not satisfied by that win. I'm not satisfied until we get a national championship under our belt," Overton said
Alabama was the only team this season to hold the Bulldogs' to 21 or fewer points. At halftime, the Crimson Tide led 24-14, and the Bulldogs never gained the lead. However, the Bulldogs threatened a comeback when they scored a touchdown in the third quarter with 6:30 left (24-21). It looked like the Bulldogs were going to take back their home field, but that was the only touchdown they were able to score in the second half.
A turning point in the game came at 4th-and-1 early in the fourth quarter when Georgia tried a 1-yard run from Alabama’s 8 and was stopped by Overton for a 2-yard loss.
This play shifted momentum for the Crimson Tide and aligned everything properly to win the game.
"It was a hurry-up tempo play by their [Georgia's] offense, and we had to get that final stop to get our offense back the ball and get the tempo back going in the second half. I thank God I got that," said Overton regarding the crucial stop.
Overton has been a leader for the Crimson Tide since joining for the 2024 season. He currently leads the team in sacks (1.5) and is fifth in tackles (12), behind Bray Hubbard (17), Justin Jefferson (15), Deontae Lawson (14), and Keon Sabb (13).
