Key Alabama Defender Enters Portal
Trey Amos came from the portal, and he may leave by it, too. Or he may not.
Amos began his career at Louisiana-Lafayette. He first told On3 of his intentions to hit the transfer portal Monday night. He played in all 14 games, started one, and recorded 12 tackles.
Amos would have been in line to potentially take over a starter's role as a cornerback in the first season of the Kalen DeBoer era. Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold have both moved on.
Amos could still change his mind and stay to compete. Whether he does or doesn't, Alabama has a great shot to land portal man Jabbar Muhammad, an All-Pac 12 corner for DeBoer at UW.
Trey Amos played well in the SEC Championship Game win over Georgia when McKinstry was injured. He garnered two pass breakups in the game.
Amos has one year of eligibility left. He spent three seasons at Louisiana. In Amos' final game as a member of the Crimson Tide program, he broke up one pass in the Rose Bowl against eventual national champion Michigan.
If Alabama hires former Tide and Seattle Seahawks assistant Karl Scott, that could influence Amos to return.
