TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- According to a report by ESPN on College Gameday, Alabama tight end Josh Ford is set to play against Georgia after breaking his arm in last week's 56-23 win over No. 17 Mississippi State.

Ford broke his arm in the second quarter last week, but returned on the fourth with a thick wrap on his arm. On Wednesday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed Ford broke his arm against the Bulldogs in Starkville and had surgery on Sunday. Ford pushed to play against No. 2 Georgia this week, and the current plan is for the Oklahoma State tight end to give it a go in the Tide's top-ten clash.

Ford has just one catch for three yards and a touchdown (a one-handed snag in Alabama's 49-18 win over South Carolina), but his contributions in the run game can not be overstated. Ford has been one of Alabama's most physical players on the line of scrimmage after spending the last two seasons at Oklahoma State.

He was listed as questionable on each of Alabama's availability reports this week leading up to the top-ten matchup tonight.

No. 6 Alabama will host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, October 10, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on ABC.
