In the first game of double header against the South Carolina Gamecocks, Crimson Tide ace Montana Fouts pitched a complete game no-hitter in a 4-0 shut-out. Though it may seem like a regular feat for the super-star, this was just the fourth no-hitter of her collegiate career. She threw 25 in high school.

For the most part, it was an uneventful affair at Rhoads House that only saw runners cross the plate in one inning, the bottom of the third. In that inning, Kenleigh Cahalan and Kali Heivilin singled to get on base, and Prange was walked. Ally Shipman then stepped up with bases loaded and only one out and got the scoring started.

Shipman hit an RBI single to bring Cahalan home. Then, Jenna Johnson did the same thing. Bailey Dowling then flew out deep into right field, but Prange managed to tag up and get home while Shipman advanced to third. When Emma Broadfoot came to back next, Johnson got caught stealing second, but not before Shipman could get home for the fourth and final run of the game.

All told, Fouts faced 23 batters and struck out 10 of them in a 96-pitch effort with an ERA of 1.36.

Alabama and South Carolina will square off again at 4:37 p.m. CST for game two of the double header.
