Charles Bediako Denied Interim Injunctive Relief by Tuscaloosa Judge
Alabama big man Charles Bediako was denied his request for an injunction pending his appeal of Judge Pruet's ruling on his preliminary injunction to the Alabama Supreme Court, according to court documents.

Charles Bediako's hearing for a preliminary injunction took place on Friday, February 6, where Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet heard the arguments from attorneys representing both Bediako and the NCAA. On Monday, February 9, Judge Pruet denied Bediako's request for a preliminary injunction.
Yesterday, Monday, February 23, Bediako appealed Judge Pruet's decision to the Alabama Supreme Court, while also filing a request for interim injunctive relief with Judge Pruet. Had Judge Pruet granted it, it would have allowed Bediako to play for Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team while the appeal was pending. The denial comes less than 24 hours after Bediako filed the request.
During his time playing for the Crimson Tide during the 2025-26 season, Bediako appeared in five games while making two starts, with Alabama going 3-2 during that stretch of games. He averaged 10 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 77.3% from the floor on 21.6 minutes per game. Since Bediako's preliminary injunction was denied, the Crimson Tide has won four straight games, including a top-20 matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
It's no surprise that Judge Pruet denied Bediako's request after his denial of Bediako's preliminary injunction. Despite the denials, Bediako has remained enrolled in classes at the University of Alabama and continues to work out and practice with the Crimson Tide, although he has not appeared in a game since the denial.
