Alabama does it once again, signing 4-star defensive back Jahlil Hurley as they continue to build a signing class for the ages. Hurley committed to Alabama in February and was the first Tide commit in the 2023 cycle.

After his senior season, Jahlil Hurley was named 1st-team All-State by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. He also played basketball in high school.

The Florence native possesses ideal length to be able to play at the next level of football, standing at 6-foot-2 170 pounds. Hurley will certainly need to add on mass when he arrives on campus, but Hurley should be in good hands with the Alabama staff.

247's Cooper Petagna praises Hurley for his top-tier athleticism, fluidity, tackling aggressiveness, and ball skills, all of which are traits that should translate well in college. Petagna also notes that Hurley "Flashes some ability as a return man, natural with the ball in his hands and has some wiggle as a runner. Will have an impact on multiple special teams units at the next level".

Hurley is coming into the program adding on to an already deep defensive back room which includes Kool-Aid McKinstrey, Earl Little Jr, Terrion Arnold, fellow signees Caleb Downs and Tony Mitchell, and others pending NFL draft decisions and transfers. Hurley will have and excellent opportunity to arrive in Tuscaloosa and learn from some of the best in the nation, as he hopes to become another Alabama great.
