It’s Completely Shocking This Happened Again in Hay Court

Over the last couple of months, Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Shelton State Community College, and Tuscaloosa Paras have been teaming up to bring fun activities to the Hayes court community on the west side of Tuscaloosa, AL.

On Saturday, September 24th Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Legal Services of Alabama, and other community partners teamed up to host a stay-in-school cookout at Hayes court.

The event turned out to be a huge success. The event included free food for the residents and attendees, bounce houses, games, and free community resources.

It's shocking because many people didn't think the first event at Hayes Court would be a success. To hold the third event within 2 months in that community is surprising to some.

“It means everything because the people can look at us and say they haven't forgotten about us," Said Curtis Childs who is a member of Men of Vision.

The Men of Vision group has been giving back to the Hayes court community for 20 years.

“The kids can look at us as not role models but men and women that made it and want them to make it in life as well!"

Hayes Court is a community that is not used to the light being shined upon them and these individuals are making it their responsibility to continue to bring light to the community.

Community service to the people in your city where you are from or currently reside is important. Every day a child is born and there’s a new generation coming behind you.

The goal is to always give back and educate those on the things you’ve learned and show love and support to one another as a whole.
