While visiting Los Angeles in August of 2013, my family and I took interest in a group of bees that kept swarming our food, especially this one in particular.

Since I had never been to LA everyone decided I get to choose where we go. I instantly said, Venice Beach! We arrived that Sunday morning on the boardwalk and spent the next hour or so walking up and down, taking in the shops, graffiti art, street buskers, skateboarders, and more.

From there we drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu where we decided to stop and eat at a quaint little seafood joint called Reel Inn. We sat on the back deck and admired an amazing view of Topanga Canyon and enjoyed a perfectly cooked spread of food.

Upon finishing, our plates became the subject of several dive bomb drills by an experienced group of bees. After several failed attempts, I was able to catch one little guy trying to make off with a piece of my rice. The female voice you hear is my cousin Gisela betting on the rice being too heavy.
