This is a major setback for the junior from St. Louis Missouri who had the real potential of being the first receiver off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft. With the torn ACL, it is debatable whether or not Williams gets drafted in the first round.

Many pundits now have Williams being drafted late in the first round behind multiple wide receivers. Among these include Williams' former teammates Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave of Ohio State University.

There is some good news here. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Williams is expected to make a full recovery following his surgery.

Ultimately, it will come down to how much of a risk an NFL team is willing to take on Williams and how smoothly his recovery goes. A full health Jameson Williams can go toe to toe with any receiver, college or pro. He is an explosive playmaker who averaged 19.9 yards per catch this year for the Crimson Tide.

Here's to hoping we see more things like this at the next level.
