Marking the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue, in collaboration with the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, Alabama Fire College, and NorthStar Paramedics, is set to host a commemorative blood drive.

This event underscores a united community effort to honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged from the tragedy.

The memorial blood drive will be with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, which supplies Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue with blood to provide patients.

The press release said, "To honor those lives lost and in tribute to the 343 Firefighters, 72 Police Officers, and countless other first responders, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue has set a goal of 110 donors."

The 110 stories of the World Trade Center symbolize the courageous ascent made by firefighters during the tragic events of 9/11. Donating blood in their memory honors their heroic efforts and extends a lifeline of hope to future generations.
