Henry To’o To’o Receives High Praise From Former Tennessee Teammates
Henry To'o To'o received some high praise from his former Tennessee teammates Velus Jones and Alontae Taylor on Tuesday during SEC Media Days.
“To’o is a great player,” Jones said. “I heard about him when I was at USC and I know he had some cousins I played with, also. He’s just a special player, but overall, he’s an even better person, a real humble, down-to-Earth person. We know on Saturdays what he’s capable of. Overall he’s a great person, but on the field, a great player, also. I love that guy. He’s a great guy, a great player. Looking forward to seeing him on the field. I wish the best for him.”
The California native transferred to Alabama in early May after spending for his first two seasons in Knoxville. To'o To'o joins an impressive linebacker room that features Christian Harris, Jaylen Moody, Will Anderson and Christopher Allen.
To'o To'o signed with Tennessee as the No. 44 overall recruit according to 247Sports in the 2019 recruiting cycle. As a freshman, he started 12 games, finished second on the team with 72 tackles and earned Freshman All-American honors. Last season To'o To'o led the Volunteers with 76 tackles and 10 tackles for loss. He also recorded two pass-breakups, one sack and one interception.
“Me and Henry are really cool,” Taylor said. “I’m excited for Henry. I talked to Henry throughout the process, and I just told him whatever makes his family happy, whatever makes him happy at the end of the day. So I’m excited for him, I stay connected with him. Come time that we go to Tuscaloosa and play them, then in those lines, we’ll compete. But outside those lines, we’re still brothers.”
The Crimson Tide are set to begin Fall Camp on Thursday, Aug. 5th.
