Former 'Team Blake' member and season two contestant Gwen Sebastian came back to 'The Voice' stage last night backing up her coach Blake Shelton.

To give you some background, Sebastian is no stranger to the stage and making music. She signed a recording deal with Lofton Creek Records in October 2009 and shortly thereafter released her first single, Hard Rain to country radio. A few weeks later and just in time for Christmas she re-released Christmas in July on Lofton Creek/Open Road Records which features some original Christmas music, as well as covers of holiday standards.

This was then followed by a digitally released, 6-song EP titled V.I.P. You may remember that 95.3 The Bear played the title track, V.I.P. (Barefoot Girl) for a short time.

Then one night, I was watching the second season of 'The Voice' then out came Gwen! She rolled through a beautiful rendition of Sugarland's 'Stay' and was blessed when not one, but four chairs turned. Of course Sebastian chose fellow country singer Blake Shelton to be her vocal coach. She worked with Blake and Miranda Lambert for her battle round, but was eliminated just before the live shows.

You'd figure the journey would end there right but no, the world started moving faster for Gwen when she was asked to go on tour with Blake as a backup singer, giving her time to hone her skills.

I was honored two years ago to have a weekly on-air conversation with Gwen recapping the week's performances during 'The Voice' season three.

Last night her career came full circle as she backed up Blake on 'The Voice' stage for his new release Boys 'Round Here which is currently sitting at number 2 on the Billboard Hot Singles chart.

Between singing on stage with Blake and backing him up on record (she sang with Pistol Annies on the album version of Boys 'Round Here) she's also planning a wedding and making her own music! She's got a full length due out in June, produced by her fiancé and featuring a guest appearance from Miranda. The first single Suitcase is now available on itunes.

She'll also be releasing one "story behind the music" every Wednesday. Here is her story behind Suitcase.
