Four-star edge Jihaad Campbell officially signed with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday afternoon.

The 6'3, 215 lb defensive end made the announcement via a live stream on his Instagram account. He originally committed to Clemson in June 2021 but de-committed this month. The next day, Campbell made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa,  Ala., however, did not commit until his signing.

The IMG Academy student is ranked No. 23 overall nationally, No. 3 edge nationally, and the No. 4 player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.

Andrew Ivins, the Southeast Scouting Reporter for 247Sports, described Campbell as an electric defender who could surprise people while scouting him in April 2021. "A twitchy pass rusher with an explosive first step that consistently brings pressure off the edge," said Ivins. " [He] tested off the charts once he transferred into the national powerhouse posting the highest vertical jump out of all the non-skill players. Also ran a short shuttle in the 4.2 range. Must add some core strength and bulk up if he’s ever going to be asked to anchor in the run game, but long limbs and play speed give him one of the highest ceilings out of any defender in the 2022 cycle."

Campbell chose Alabama over his 32 total offers, beating out: Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
