Former Aggie Defender Slams The Terminator After SEC Media Days Comments
Unless you've been living under a rock this offseason then you know the beef that's been brewing between Texas A&M and Alabama. Nick Saban insinuated that Jimbo Fisher couldn't recruit without money, Fisher retorted that Saban was a narcissist and the eyes of the college football world turned to the Oct. 8 matchup between the Aggies and Tide.
After losing to Texas A&M in College Station 41-38 in 2021 the Crimson Tide didn't need any extra motivation heading into this year's matchup, but Fisher certainly gave it to Alabama thanks to his manic May press conference.
The Alabama contingent kept it classy at SEC Media Days in Atlanta last week, downplaying the drama between the rival schools. Alabama's Will Anderson made the most noteworthy comment by ominously promising to address Fisher's comments on the field in October.
One Aggie wasn't too happy with Anderson's comments, despite the muted nature of his remarks. Leon O'Neal Jr. a former Texas A&M and current San Francisco 49er took to Twitter to react to the Terminator.
"Bruh you had one tackle [laughing face] last time we played them...but talk your shiii gansta," tweeted O'Neal Jr.
O'Neal won't be part of the 2022 matchup between the Aggies and Crimson Tide, but he did make his mark on this rivalry during last year's Texas A&M upset win. O'Neal registered 9 total tackles, 5 solo, with 1 sack, 1 TFL and 1 pass defended last year in College Station.
Technically, Anderson was credited with 6 total tackles against Texas A&M but only 1 was listed as a solo tackle. The Terminator was just getting back to 100% in the 2021 matchup after suffering a knee injury in the Florida game three-weeks prior.
No matter what Anderson's stats were in the 2021 Alabama loss, he would tell anyone that it wasn't enough. His focus will be leading Alabama to redemption against the Aggies in 2022.
